All Getting Noticed Improvements

Q: I’ve emailed at least 20 coaches with little or no response. Should I give up?

A: No. If you really want to play at the collegiate level understand that you may have to reach out to hundreds of programs to reach your dream. But also remember you just need that ONE staff to believe in you – not every school in the country.

– When emailing coaches, be sure to send a link to your film and your Student-Athlete Resume so they can evaluate you.

– Are you sending your stuff to the correct address? Sometimes generic email addresses aren’t monitored ([email protected]), so that could be a dead end.

– Emails can only get you so far. Can you get to summer camps or compete in AAU events (depending on the sport)? There are “8 Reasons Why Players May Be Recruited” – what other ways can you get noticed or seen?

– Are you old enough to legally contact? Coaches may not be responding if you are too young. Rules vary by sport as to when coaches can contact you, but it’s normally sometime during your junior year.
