To some the recruiting process will be more than frustrating and to some, the rejection and feedback (or lack of response) may be too much.
Remember—you just need to find that ONE coaching staff who believes in you, not earn 50 scholarship offers from schools across the country. You may not even start (or finish) as a scholarship player—but the goal of playing college athletics on any level is something you should never give up on!
I’m here to tell you : NEVER PUT AN EXPIRATION DATE ON YOUR DREAMS! You may have to start out at a Junior College, or as a walk-on with no scholarship. You may have to try out to be a walk-on two or three times. You may never see game action until your senior year… you may never hear the announcer call your name during starting lineups… BUT, what you will have is a lifetime of memories and most likely, a lifetime of lessons.
Along with the wins, the scholarship money and maybe even the TV time… college athletics are more about the relationships with your teammates, coaches and university, about the memories and about the lessons you’ve learned that will help you in your adult life.
You must WORK for what you want, stay positive in your persistence and always keep the dream alive, no matter what anyone says!
